Fall 2010: The Art of Survival for Adults
Are you at home wherever you are?
Do you know that you could survive and thrive in the land, if you chose to or had to?
Where in the landscape would you go?
What plants and animals would be your closest allies?
Eyes of the Forest will offer a fall course in The Art of Survival. This unique program mentors students in both the physical skills of survival, and in the knowledge of place and awareness that form the foundation of those skills. Seven Wednesday afternoon outdoor field sessions culminate in a group survival overnight experience. The program is an excellent complement to other naturalist training such as the Art of Mentoring, the Kamana program, or previous Eyes of the Forest courses.
Skills covered by the course include:
Shelter
Water
Fire
Food
Medicine
Cordage
Containers
Stone Tools
Navigation
Reading the Landscape
and more...
